Pledge of Allegiance
Treasurers Report- January statement is included on last months minutes,
February is forthcoming. As of Jan 27 our checkbook balance was $10,330.84,
current balance is $4,500. Money allocated for pennies for pillows-$996
and scholarships- $1500. Motion to accept report- 1st-Red, 2nd-Nancy.
Secretary's Report- Lynette reviewed last months minutes. Motion to accept
minutes- 1st-Nancy, 2nd-Kim.
Bookkeepers Report- Kim announced monetary donations received since last
month.

Added: 2nd Annual Capt. John McKenna IV Poker run on June 5. A portion
of the proceeds will benefit

Heritage Day Parade- 6/26 (see details below)
Sponsorship- Three levels of membership available.
We are looking for a donation of 90 laminated arrow signs. Approx size
11 x 17. Please contact Cliff if you know of anyone that can help out.
We are also in need of (gallon size or larger) jars. Leslie Lane (our
94 year old volunteer that paints the ornaments for care packages) is
now painting the jars. His daughter, Anita is placing them in venues to
collect monetary donations. To date they have placed close to 100 jars.

H & R Block will be doing our taxes this year. Cliff is meeting with
them on 3/2 at 5 pm.
We received an invitation to Prospect Mt. Memorial Service. The date is
6/6. details to follow.
Poker Run start and end points have been confirmed. We are looking for
donation of hot dogs, rolls, hamburgers... etc.
Gun Club- 3/19 & 20 at the Saratoga City Center- OAAS/ PYR will set
up an information table. Friday- Red and Nancy, Saturday- Brenda, Sue
Scanlon and Tracey will volunteer to man the table. Tracey will pay the
fee to sponsor the table. Thank you Tracey, Red, Nancy, Sue and Brenda.
Future shows - April-Utica, May- Clifton Park.
Tracey gave details of the Heritage Day Parade on June 26. Parade is at
11am, line up at 10 am at the GE Parking lot. We need at least 12 people
to march with us. Contact Cliff or Terri if you are interested in marching
with us.
Wreaths across America- More information next month.
Tracey has information if you are interested in sending cards and letters
to wounded marines- Operation PAL program. Please contact Tracey for more
information at traceycurrielafountaine@yahoo.com .. This is a wonderful
opportunity for kids organizations.
Kim brought in a handbook for 501 (c) 3 organizations. This will be kept
on hand at the building for reference. Thank you Kim.

We received an annual family sponsorship - bronze level.
Pennies for Pillows- to date we have $840.
We read a letter from a deployed Chaplain requesting items.
Any monies spent must be approved by three executive committee members.
Lila is checking into a coin drop for our benefit in Granville, volunteers
will be needed (tba)
Grant from Dept. of Military & Naval Affairs has been submitted.
Addendum- Cliff received notification- We have received the grant!! :)

Building Hours of Operation -- Thursday- 12 noon to 2pm (closed 12/24)
Saturday- 3pm to 5pm
Red contacted electrician- All costs will be donated for a solar sign..

set us up and maintain the page for us.. Thank you, Phyllis.
Wayne expressed an interest in becoming a board member.
Our Fort Hood dinner raised $2148.98 for the 13 victims families. We took
a vote to send $2500.

March 8-WMHT telethon- unable to participate due to lack of volunteers and interest.

4/4 & 5- Basket Raffle- raised $425
4/6- Delivered Easter baskets to the veterans at Stratton.

Dan Nolin spoke about the 50-60 unidentified soldiers to be interred at Gerald Solomon National Cemetary on Memorial Day this year. Please contact Dan at Dan1Nolin@yahoo.com for more details. This is an event we would like to support. This is a Patriot Guards Project. Dan-Please let us know what we can do, thanks.
Scholarship deadline is approaching and we have received some applications. We will get together with Rich and review.
501 (c) 3- Still being processed-We are closer to getting our temporary status.
Robbery- (addendum) They have made an arrest!!
Pennies for Pillows- still ongoing. Currently we have approx. $25-30 collected.
Great Escape tickets- We will have them in hand by the end of next week :) The cost per ticket is $20.35.

Treasurers Report: Reminder and fyi- our books are always open to the public at any time. Upcoming Events: Bowl-A-thon- currently there are 60 people signed up. We have enough room for 160. Basket Raffle- 4/4 &5, basket donations still being accepted. Tickets will be 25 for $10. Bus Trip- We have 20-25 seats left. Date is April 25 for Mohegan Sun-check website for details. Annual Support our Troops walk- Saturday, June 27, 2009 at Saratoga Spa State Park, lunch and beverages will be provided, we need sponsors, registration starts at 10 am. Poker Run-July 4, 2009, Start at American Legion on West ave, Details to follow, we need sponsors for this event also. Cars are also welcome to participate, meal and prizes at the end of the ride. Discussions: We will be selling tickets for Great Escape to be used in May. The cost will be $20 per ticket. (regular admission cost is 40.99 plus tax). There is a cash incentive to the organization that sells the most tickets. Last year first prize was $750! :) That would send a lot of boxes! Contact Terri or Cliff to reserve your tickets. The dates for spring spin tickets are: May 9,10,16, 17, 22, 23, 24, 25, 28, 29, 30 and 31. Times are from 10 am to 5, 6 or 8pm depending which day you choose. You will also have the opportunity to upgrade to a season pass for $39. or purchase a c'mon back ticket for $13. Easter Baskets for Stratton- We will get together Thursday, April 2 to put together baskets for the vets at stratton at the building on Route 50 from 5 to 7pm. Date to deliver them tba. Our scholarship deadline is approaching quickly.. Please remind your graduating students to submit their essays and sign up for this great opportunity. Membership Opportunity- ideas discussed, we need to iron out the details. Please let us know if you have any other ideas. We will have three levels of membership for business, family or individual. Rich checked into our 501 (c) 3 inventory and got some very simplifying details for us :) He touched base with a CPA for ideas and handed out a sample inventory sheet. This will make it very easy for us. Thank you Rich! Lynette and Gorden are working on the September Balloon Festival and so far the officials can't see any problem with us being set up there but will give them the final ok soon. Thank you Lynette and Gorden. We would like to thank everyone for their time and effort for this great cause, we could not obtain our goal without all you. Please remember to keep our troops and their families in your hearts, thoughts and prayers. We would also like to thank Mike McCotter for getting the donation for gas and provisions to go to Malone to p/u supplies. Also, thanks to Red for all your hard work.
